Avery McKnight has released a new CD entitled “Awakening,” which is a powerful testimony of confession, repentance, redemption, reconciliation and restoration.  Given his divine appointment in this season to evangelize others and edify the body of Christ throughout the world, McKnight has taken the musical influences and elements of Christian, contemporary and quartet gospel, jazz, hip-hop, and R&B to share the good news of Jesus Christ.  This latest CD features the smooth and melodic vocal harmonies of McKnight and anointed musical talents of Andre “MusicManDre” Forbes, Darius “Doc” Baker, Rick Watford, Gregory Speights and Robert Williams.           

In the order of Melchizedek, McKnight is also an ordained elder in the Church of God By Faith, Inc., and now serves as pastor of PowerHouse Church of God By Faith in Tallahassee, Florida.  As a composer and writer, his passion and study of the whole counsel of God is clearly evident in “Awakening” as well as his godly desire to see others enlightened, healed, forgiven and accepted.   McKnight produced his first CD entitled “Caught in the Middle” in 2001, which is available via amazon.com. 

Guided by his commitment to the ministry of others, McKnight currently volunteers with the Big Bend Hospice to create further awareness of its unique programs and services in the Tallahassee area, and serves on the Board of Directors for the Character Center, which focuses on the educational, physical, emotional and spiritual needs of young students.

A native of Florida, McKnight is a magna cum laude graduate of Florida A&M University (FAMU) and earned his Juris Doctorate from Florida State University (FSU) College of Law.  In addition, he has been recognized by the NAACP as a Black Achiever in 2002, and was recently selected as a member of Florida Trend’s Legal Elite in 2008.    

McKnight is happily married to Chiquita who recently gave birth to a little girl (Sydney), and has two teenagers (Elliott and Alexia).
