EMI GOSPEL Contest WINNER
PRIZE: "EMI Gospel Giftpack"

One of my favorite releases from EMI Gospel is Darwin Hobbs’ Worshipper.  I don’t have the CD but I heard a track or two and with his soulful, silky voice it just makes you want to worship. He is definitely a psalmist, the musical gifting that he delivers makes a grown man cry. I hope he does many more gospel CD’s under EMI. The other EMI release I really enjoy is TD Jakes and the Potter’s House Mass Choir.  His last CD was wonderful.  You would think that preaching would be the only thing this man can put out but the CD’s he has released encourages all to worship God and enter in His presence.  Keep up the good work EMI Gospel in releasing some fantastic gospel music.

EMI Gospel, thank you so much for the music coming from the anointed, Smokie Norful, simply one of my favorites.  I just recently began listening to Christian music about 3 months on my own, even though I have been saved for 2 years.  Smokie Norful’s album was the first CD that I personally purchased with my own money, after a few that had been given to me as gifts.  I really took the initiative to purchase this CD because it was letting me see my growth toward a calling not my own and that my interest had changed.  In Christ, I am a new creature.

As I begin to listen to Smokie Norful and allow this CD to take over, I was enlightened on how, not only the lyrics of the songs helped me in my growth, but I was also in tune with the message of the CD.  I have now purchased other CD’s "on-my-own" and it is starting to be the same as when I would purchase music featuring secular artists.  I cannot get enough.  I can say Smokie Norful, being my first, opened a door that was closed, but never locked.

Once you know who you really are, it is an amazing discovery that takes over and helps the past seem more like the great future set before I was even formed.  Thanks EMI Gospel and BlackGospel.com for the chance to be blessed by this dynamic collaboration and contest.

One of my favorite album or artists from the EMI Gospel label has to be Myron Butler. It's kind of hard to just pick one because I am also a big fan of many of the other artists such as Darwin Hobbs, Kierra Sheard, Donald Lawrence, and others. Myron Butler stands out to me because his sound is different. The way God uses his ministry with the different harmonies really just blows my mind because it is so amazing. I love so many songs on his album. If I had to pick two favorites, it would be "Redeemed" and "Heal Their Land." The styles of the song are so unique and not the "original" gospel that we hear today, at the same time it is not the contemporary style either. Those two songs really helped me get through some trying days.

When I thought about the lyrics to the songs and how in "Redeemed," Jesus paid the price and how He sacrificed all for me, it made me realize how much God loves me and how much He has already taken care of the situations in my life. Also, in "Heal Our Land," the last track on the CD I believe, it quotes the scripture of how when we humble ourselves and pray and turn from our wicked ways then God will hear from Heaven and heal our land.

Those words alone just touched something deep in my heart. Myron Butler & Levi are really some anointed people and that is why they are one of my favorites. They have really had a great impact on me.

Hi, I want to tell you all about my favorite CD from EMI Gospel.  It would have to be the one and only Kierra Kiki Sheard.  I tell you.  I love that girl.  When she first came out and I heard her single -You Don't know - I was loving it.  I didn't know all the words but I just had to have her CD.  My sister actually got the CD for me for Christmas. I could have kissed her for that.  Now that she has her new CD out, it's like love again.  You can really get into her words and you can tell she's matured but she is so vivid. Her single from her new CD has a great beat.  You can get the lyrics pretty quickly.

I have been trying to get her new CD since I found out she had a new one.  Hopefully, my sister will get me this one like she did the first time. It would save me some money, but if she doesn't soon, I'll get it myself.  You might be wondering how I know about her CD.  Well, you just gotta do what you gotta do, even if it means requesting the different songs on the radio. I just gotta get me some Kierra Kiki Sheard.
