Who Moved the Landmark and Caused a Landslide?
by Qimmah Gillund (iamsanctuary1@aol.com)
Landmark: A fixed marker, such as a concrete block, that indicates a boundary line. Having great importance or significance. A boundary line indicated by a stone, stake, etc. (Deut. 19:14; 27:17; Prov.22:28; 23:10; Job 24:2). Landmarks could not be removed without incurring the severe displeasure of God.
Landslide: Downward sliding or the mass that slides. An overwhelming majority of votes for a political party or candidate.
So who moved the
landmark?
Hosea 5:10
The princes of Judah are like those who remove the
landmark [the barrier between right and wrong]; I will pour out My wrath
upon them like water. (Amplified)
And who are the
Princes of Judah?
Priests, (ministers) of music in the tabernacle of God. Designated vessels
assigned to usher in the spirit and anointing of God, by the offering of
thanksgiving, worship, and praise, through music, song, and dance.
And who caused the landslide?
The vessels of God, musicians, vocalists, instrumentalist, the leaders, Apostles, Pastors, Prophets, Evangelists, Teachers. The disciples of Jesus Christ, those redeemed by the Lord who do not say so! Those who have sided with the majority and elected to go against and away from the ways of God, in pursuit and support of the ways of the world.
Hebrews 2:1-3
SINCE ALL this is true, we
ought to pay much closer attention than ever to the truths that we have heard,
lest in any way we drift past [them] and slip away. For if the message given
through angels [the Law spoken by them to Moses] was authentic and proved sure,
and every violation and disobedience received an appropriate (just and adequate)
penalty.
How shall we escape [appropriate retribution] if we neglect and refuse to pay attention to such a great salvation [as is now offered to us, letting it drift past us forever]? For it was declared at first by the Lord [Himself], and it was confirmed to us and proved to be real and genuine by those who personally heard [Him speak]. (Amplified)
There are some in
the music industry who are maintaining the standard1 of
holiness, while helping to bridge the lost back to their spiritual roots. May
God continue
to bless you in all of your endeavors to assist the lost in finding their way
back to Him.
And
there are those in the music industry who have decided to
cross over2 in collaboration, and mix holy
with unholy, clean with unclean, add the name of Jesus and expect God to
sanctify and bless it. Haven’t you heard? No servant is able to serve two
masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will stand by
and be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon
(riches, or anything in which you trust, and on which you rely).
Matthew 6:24
There is an old
saying, “no two things can occupy the same space at the same time”, and the
statement is true, unless one thing is contained within the other. You can be an
anointed vessel yet under the influence of an ungodly spirit.3 We cannot afford to forget that in
this life we are in a constant war in our members, lest we slip. Paul taught us:
Romans 7:21
“Now if I do what I do
not desire to do, it is no longer I doing it [it is not myself that acts], but
the sin [principle] which dwells within me [fixed and operating in my soul]. So
I find it to be a law (rule of action of my being) that when I want to do what
is right and good, evil is ever present with me and I am subject to its
insistent demands.” (Amplified)
This is a clear
case of two things occupying the same space at the same time. The bottom line is
this; we cannot continue to move the landmark of holiness as taught by the
gospel of Jesus Christ. Unfortunately I have to clearly define what I mean
by holiness since there are so many definitions these days and so many defining
their own righteous, but as the Bible said in Romans 10, without knowledge. We
have been entrusted to leave an inheritance to our children and to our
generations. We cannot continue to produce weak babies who are ineffective in
the kingdom, and who are powerless against the enticement of the enemy. We
cannot continue to dilute the gospel and the glory of God by courting with
worldliness and calling it godliness. By doing so we circumvent the ransom
paid by the death and resurrection and victory gained by our Savior, Lord, and
King, Jesus Christ, and have become the third Adam. Our King overcame the world,
yet some who carry his name have integrated back into the world. In essence you
have divorced him, but you still want to keep his name. You have bared no
children by him yet you want him to pay support.
The Bible
teaches that He called the young, because they are strong, and the old because
they know the way. I’m saddened to say that some of the old have not been called
since they are not even in the way, at least not in the way of holiness. You
cannot blame the young people when you walk in the church and see them popping
their bodies like popcorn to, nevertheless, gospel music, when the blame
truly belongs on the examples they see, the gospel artists and producers who
have introduced a corrupted musical influence into the Body of Christ. And let’s
not leave out the leaders who defend and promote it as trying to draw the young
people! Children live what they learn, and what they watch in some of the gospel
videos so closely mimics what you see in secular videos that it is virtually
impossible to see the difference! Don’t just take my word for it, try this
yourself; watch some of these “gospel videos” with the mute button on and see if
you can tell the difference between the secular and the “gospel” performer.
Something is wrong with this picture! And, I need not elaborate on the sound of
the music, for it speaks for itself.
My beloved saints of the
most high God, someone has to cry loud and spare not. I don’t care how long
you’ve been around the church, it time to be the church. Why are the saints so
afraid of being the called out and peculiar? Why is there such a struggle to
assimilate? The “Body” as a whole is out of order! Like me later but hear me
now, we’ve got to humble ourselves and pray, and turn from our wicked ways, and
seek the face of God. Not until then will He hear from heaven, not until then
will He forgive our sin and heal our land. We must seek now the Lord while He
may be found; while God is allowing us access to Himself, during this season of
salvation, and before an eventual death by sin and destruction. We must line up
with His agenda and disregard our own. It’s not about us, its all about Him!
The
princes of Judah today must take a stand against introducing music and dance
into the Body of Christ that is devised outside of the sanctuary and outside of
a godly influence. Gospel musicians must re-establish the landmark. The intent
of gospel music is to give thanks, worship, and praise unto God. The sole
purpose is to usher into the tabernacle the presence and anointing of God, as
was its purpose of old. I’m speaking of the anointing that destroys every yoke.
This is the original landmark. The music should not be enticing to the flesh, it
should rather usher and encourage the worshipper into sanctified praise and
worship, and the music should be able to at least
drive a demon out4 not invite them to dance along!
The finger snapping, body popping gyration, running man movements being
performed in the sanctuary are in no way giving glory to God! There is NO good
thing in the flesh, so why would we flaunt it in the face of God?
The only other
instance in the Bible where music was instrumental was preceding or following a
battle, yet it still was in praise and adoration and exaltation to God. Most
gospel music today is creating a battle; the battle is to keep the enemy off of
holy ground. Somebody moved the landmark, which ensures the displeasure of God.
The problem is that we’ve gone too far, and stayed too long, but I praise God
that it’s not too late! We still have a chance to right the wrong like the
Prophet Isaiah wrote, “sing a new song.”
The gospel music industry as a whole must hand in its resignation, and resign from this worldly taskmaster who requires the soul, and pays no long-term benefits. No man can serve two masters. Its time to hate the one who offers only temporary monetary benefits, and embrace the only one who ensures eternal life along with a retirement plan! All who name the name of Jesus will be held accountable for helping to remove the landmark, and for causing a landslide by which many will miss God in this last hour. The guilty are not only those who are in the industry, but also those who are in the Body of Christ who have not stood against and who continue to tolerate it. In fact, the industry exists to make a profit, so they are doing what they should do! But why is the church not doing what it’s supposed to do? We are to make a difference not assimilate and collaborate! We MUST stop this madness, wisdom is the principle thing but in all your getting, get an understanding! It is ordained by God himself that we be different, called out, set aside, sanctified, holy and acceptable in His sight, but somebody moved the landmark!
NO MORE EXCUSES!
We can no longer make
excuses for allowing the world system to reside and feel comfortable in the
sanctuary of God, in its present state. The world is enmity to God and has never
had an invitation to remain in His house. It is familiar to hear, “come as you
are,” but it has never been said, “stay as you are.” We are missing the mark,
and the sad thing is that the world is in intensive care, and the Body of Christ
is in the bed right next to them. Is there no balm in Gilead, is there no
physician there? When you pass by a sports arena, you know what it is by the
sound that comes from it, when you pass by a bar, tavern, or nightclub you know
what type of place that is by the sound that you hear coming out of it. Why is
it then when a sinner passes by the tabernacle of God, they can be easily
confused as to what type of establishment it is, because of the sound that is
coming out? The sound should be distinctively different from that of the bar
across the street! The music should not appeal to the lustfulness of the flesh,
nor should it induce all of this body gyration seen in the sanctuary. But I have
heard some “gospel music” that I afterward had to question, “What kind of move
can the Holy Ghost do to that?” I can’t imagine the Psalmist David today
singing a new rendition of “What going on?”, but it would certainly be a
legitimate question. We must stop this moving of the landmark and this causing
of a landslide, and come back to the place where we first believed. We must get
back to the place of newness in Christ, the place of denouncing the world and
its influence in our lives; the time when everything was all about Jesus and all
we wanted to do was please him. The time when we had a little less attitude, and
whole lot of gratitude.
1Holiness as preached by the gospel
of Christ, opposed to “a standard”, which varies with the individual.
2Disregard
of the boundary of holiness, compromising and corrupting the way set
before. Instead of coming out from among them and being separate, going toward
them and being entwined.
3As was the
anointed Saul, who was plagued by an evil spirit sent by God.
4Refers to
anointed David who played skillfully to drive the evil spirit from Saul
