No Stand. No Standard.

ADVERTISE HERE

Standard - Something considered by an authority or by general consent as a basis of comparison. A rule or principle that is used as a basis for judgment, such as morals, ethics, habits, etc., that have been established by authority. For a Christian the standard is the infallible word of God.

Stand – To take a position or place, to maintain a position or attitude with respect to an issue or cause. To have or adopt a certain policy, course, adherence, support, or resistance. For a Christian a stand is the adamant (unyielding) position against anything, which goes against the word of God.

Isaiah 59:19
So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.

How Can The Spirit of the Lord Lift Up A Standard, If the Body Of Christ Does Not Take A Stand?

In today’s church the doctrine of, you’re all right, I’m all right, come as you are and stay as you are, and it doesn’t take all that, is clearly exhibiting a lack of a standard. The threat of this new doctrine is that it establishes no foundation. However, the foundation of the Lord stands sure, having this seal; the Lord knows those who are his and let every man who names the name of the Lord depart from his iniquity. (That’s Bible!) It doesn’t matter who you are or what the iniquity, depart! So why are we holding on to that which God commanded that we depart from?

Proverbs 22:6 commands us to “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” And, except we ALL come as little children we will in no wise inherit the kingdom of heaven. (Jesus said this.) No one is exempted from the training.

Proverbs 30:11-14, reviews the need for a standard to be set:
There is a generation that curses their father, and doth not bless their mother. There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness. There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! and their eyelids are lifted up. There is a generation, whose teeth are as swords, and their jaw teeth as knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men
.

If we don’t stand for something, we will certainly fall for anything! The era of the new non-traditional church is now upon us, however this movement is in direct conflict and opposition to the word of God given to Prophet Jeremiah in the 6th chapter, (please read the entire chapter for the full understanding).

Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.

Sound familiar? Sounds a lot like the church today that is saying that the word of God is somehow now obsolete and in need of a “new” revelation, and they certainly will not walk therein (in the good way). This new fangled belief system is setting the stage for the antichrist.

It is written in the Word of God that there is nothing new under the sun (this means in the Earth), and that no prophecy or scripture is of private interpretation. However, this is not the message you hear coming from a many of pulpits. (From the new scribes and Pharisees.) Disbelief of the revealed word is what is truly rendering the word of God of none effect. It is the convincing the flock that the Word, as revealed by the holy men of God, was not intended to convey the message as it was written. The claim is that the Word now needs a new interpretation for this new day, and this new people. These “new” revelations are chiseling away at the very foundation of the soul of the believer. And we wonder why there is no “power” in a lot of the sanctuaries. Newsflash! The same “old” sins exist in this “new” day, and we need the same words of Christ Jesus the deliverer to eradicate the sin. The sin is the same, and our God is the same, the only thing different is the day!

Remember the song, “Give me that old time religion? If it was good enough for my father . . . it’s good enough for me?” Well, the “old church” had no problem or failure in exhibiting the true power and glory of God, and not only in the service! Yet many of today’s generation of teachers have fabricated a better way, however the proof is in the pudding, NO POWER! They talk a good talk, but there is no true manifestation! That is why so many remain the same. 1 Corinthians 4:20, For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power. Let the true men and women of God say Amen!

2 Peter 1:19-21
We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. KJV

Either we believe the Word of God or we don’t! It is imperative that we take a stand on something and stop falling for everything! Some are so desperate to be different, that the enemy is making fools out of them. Roman 1:22 hit the nail on the head, “Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools . . .” And many believers are guilty of providing a foundation of believing in those who are just out to make a name for themselves. Study to show yourselves approved unto God, you will be less likely to be eaten by the wolves in sheep clothing.

What can’t we be fools for Christ as was Paul? Why must our difference be found outside of the things of God instead of inside of the word of God? We feel our difference has to be unlike the old church. What child wouldn’t want to be like its celebrated parent? It seems to me that the church would try to get back to the way it was in its first glory, so that we would at least have a foundation to begin from and improve upon. Jesus even said that He and the Father are one.

And may I add here that God is NEVER outdated, and neither is His word! He is the same God yesterday, today, and forever more, he changes not. The Bible is right, that means somebody else is wrong.

Psalms 95:7-9
For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To day if ye will hear his voice, Harden not your heart, as in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness: When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my work.

Herein drops the plumb line, we are the sheep of his hand. This is where the pride of man stands firm and prevents him from humbling under the mighty hand of God. Consumed with the idea of being a “wonder” he denies himself the benefit of receiving and believing the true revelation, and experiencing and exhibiting the true power of God. As quiet as it is kept, the Bible needs no new or further interpretation. In fact, believers are warned not to add to it or take from it.

However, disobedient, stiff necked, and rebellious man wants to lead instead of follow. Some are convinced that the word of God needs an interpretation that only their finite minds can bring. How can we dress God’s word up in our own wardrobe?

Joshua 24:15
And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD
.

We’ve got to take a stand so that our God can lift up a standard. Without a holy stand, there will be nothing there of value to lift up. It amazes me that the church doesn’t want to be identified with the attributes of God. We don’t want to be associated with holiness, nor baptism (which is of the Holy Ghost by the way), we don’t take communion, so there is no communing with Christ. We have no method, nor do we have a presbytery, we are not in God nor are we in Christ. Quite simply we are nothing, and you can’t get something out of nothing. (Let he who has an ear hear what the spirit is saying to the church).  No stand, no standard!

II Timothy 3:1-7
This, know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. KJV

This word needs no further interpretation or revelation, its clear! And, it spoke of today while yet in time past. The reality is that this scripture is directed to those of us in the church!

Jude 1:3
Beloved, my whole concern was to write to you in regard to our common salvation. [But] I found it necessary and was impelled to write you and urgently appeal to and exhort [you] to contend for the faith which was once for all handed down to the saints [the faith which is that sum of Christian belief which was delivered verbally to the holy people of God]. Amplified

Yes, we must contend for the faith that was once delivered to the saints, as there are many in the land who would try to contaminate what God has already established through his Holy Word. Fight with all that you have to stay faithful to the Word of God as it is written, and when the enemy comes against you like a flood, the spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him. Live the standard, and take a stand and the Lord will have something to lift up.

God bless you!

 - “But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.”
1 Corinthians 15:10
